Dr. Avner Finberg is an Israeli-American violinist and composer. He teaches violin in the Suzuki method, combined with traditional violin teaching techniques. He strives to give his students a love for music and a good foundation for their future musical education. He studied violin at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance with Hagai Shaham and Roi Shiloach (B. Mus). He then completed his musical education in New York City at The Mannes School of Music (M.Mus) and Manhattan School of Music (DMA). He performed in venues in Vienna, New York City, Germany and Israel. He performed with the Israel Philharmonic, the Binghamton Philharmonic, OSFL, and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra. He performed solo recitals and chamber music with Ensemble INMC, Opus Ithaca Community Concert Series, OSFL Chamber Series, Spectrum NYC, The Firehouse Space Brooklyn, and Tiroler ensemble für newe musik, (Innsbruck, Austria). He completed Suzuki Teacher Training in books 1-6 at Ithaca College. He teaches group and private Suzuki violin at the Washington Conservatory of Music.
